Pamela and Dolly
« on: March 06, 2010, 08:43:42 PM »
I'm a kitty lover.  I have only two cats one of them we found out in our pampus grass in the front yard.  This kitten had been abandand and her little voice was just a crying to the point of being able to hear her from inside the house and it was a  little kitten about 3 to 4 wks old.  We named her Pamela because we found her in the pampus grass.  Had to bottle feed her about 3 wks before she was weaned on barbeque and the bottle ended that day.  After being weaned she began to grow and she was a very small cat and has the shortist legs which makes it hard to see things and jump up very far.  She is solid black and has long hair and so gentle and loving and though small she is spunky and run circles around our other feline.

Our other cat was adopted from the Human Society and was given to me as a gift on Christmas Day.  I had another cat named Roxy which was the same colors as Dolly with just a few minor difference.  Roxy I had for 18 yrs. and was really attachs to her and I grieved a long while at her death as she died of old age.    But this was the reason my mother-in-law and her sister got the cat for me because of it's colors.

Dolly is a pig ever beggin for food with all her tricks she will do like turning on her belly a meowing and she will sit and stare for a long will at you.  Then if that don't break me she will start reaching her paw out touching my leg over and over again.  Then if that doesn't work she then will jump on my lap and pretends she loves me but it is all an act for treats even when she was just fed.  She weighs 14 Ibs and vet tells us not to get over 14 Ibs.` But Dolly has her own ways about her and I love her and Pamela both.  Wish I had pics to show you my babies...................paula

Oh I would love to see pictures of them.  We just adopted our FIFTH cat.  And I wasn't a cat person at all when this started.  Three of ours were found and likely would have died if we hadn't adopted.  The fourth one (not in order of adoption though) is the only one we actually sought out.  We went to adopt a little guy named Sully but he wasn't at PetSmart the day we adopted and my son fell in love with Vanilla.  Our 5th guy is actually the Sully that we went to adopt when we got Vanilla.  We were checking up on one we had seen at the pet store to make sure she found a home when I saw Sully's picture on Petfinder.com  They still had him.  He had been in foster care for 1 1/2 years.  We brought him home on Thursday.

Thanks for sharing Paula. We have way more than 2 and even way more than 5 cats at our house! Most of them are suppose to be barn cats but Dennis feeds them, built them a shelter and lets most of them come inside for extra love and food! With spring on its way so will new litters of kittens with Lucy being the first of the queens to give birth some time this month.

Well, Lucy had the first litter of the season with 4 kittens on Monday March 22. The first kitten was born on Dennis and his bed. Lucy likes to have someone sitting with her when she is giving birth and I didn't get up out of bed when she wanted me too so she decided she would come to Dennis. One of the kittens died Thursday night.
Spot will be the next of the queens to be birthing but she will be having hers in the barn where they belong!!
