Asbury College Revival 1970
« on: December 29, 2009, 08:50:18 AM »
If you have never seen this video, it's worth watching. It a revival at a Wesleyan college in Wilmore, Ky in 1970. I would be interested in hearing your thoughts about this one... It will make you think about what revival is and what it isn't.

It's interesting and seems to be genuine.  I admit that I didn't listen to the whole thing closely though.  My belief used to be that genuine revival always had to be spontaneous.  I've changed my thinking on that over the last few year for a few reasons.  I've never been a part of what I would call a genuine revival so I can't answer for that.

I was just reading about some historic revivals and I'll agree that I have never seen anything like either. I think when most people today think of revival they think of Benny Hinn coming to town. Oh brother! If we ever needed revival, we need it today.

You're right about needing it, but please NOT Benny Hinn!!  In fact, there are very few evangelists that I would be able to listen to their teaching.  Shame!

Definite amen to that!  Benny Hinn, Rod Parsley, Joel Osteen...sigh...I could stomach it if at the very least they could get their apologetics correct, but sadly that is not the case.
